Course Prospectus: Bollywood Piano - 4 

Program Overview and Structure  

The Bollywood Piano Series is a structured, sequential program designed to equip intermediate pianists with the skills necessary to perform classic popular Hindi film songs with authenticity and musical depth. The curriculum is divided into progressive courses (e.g., Bollywood Piano - 1, Bollywood Piano – 2), ensuring a systematic and detailed mastery of the repertoire.  

  

Core Curriculum and Pedagogical Focus  

The series provides a comprehensive syllabus centered on the meticulous execution of selected classical Bollywood songs. The primary focus areas for detailed study within each course include:  

• Right Hand (RH) Mastery: Detailed instruction on the correct vocal melody notation, ensuring accurate phrasing, dynamics, ornaments and expressive interpretation of the original compositions.  

• Harmonic Integration: Utilizing the original chord progressions as the foundational harmonic structure for each song.  

• Left Hand (LH) Accompaniment: Introduction and development of accessible and matching LH patterns designed to provide rhythmic stability and harmonic support without excessive technical difficulty.  

• Architectural Analysis: The systematic study of complete song architecture, including the Intro , Music 1 (Instrumental Interludes), melodic Fillers, and the precise correct vocal notes for both the sthayi (verse) and antara (chorus).

This course features some specially designed lessons based on the following songs :

Wo jab yaad aye

Intermediate Students: who can already play a little with their left hand and want to significantly improve the Both hands coordination.  

  

Developing a Strong Foundation for Left Hand: Master essential left-hand patterns that form the bedrock of piano accompaniment.  

  

Technical Enhancement of RH: Significantly improve RH dexterity and melodic expression.  

  

Self-Taught Pianists: If you're looking to fill gaps in your technique and build a solid foundation for two-handed playing, this is the course for you.  

  

Please Note: This course is not for absolute beginners. You should already know the basic note names (e.g., C D E F / Sa Re Ga Ma) and major and minor chords to understand the lessons.   

The instructor primarily teaches in Hindi with some English.  

  

Course Structure and Requirements:  

Each course in this series (e.g., Bollywood Piano - 1, Bollywood Piano - 2) is an independent module, not a sequential level. This means you can enroll in any course at any time. Feel free to choose the module based on the unique collection of Bollywood songs you are most passionate about learning.   

  

What You'll Need:  

To get the most out of this course, you’ll need one of the following instruments:   

Acoustic or digital piano , A 5-octave keyboard with touch sense , MIDI keyboard.  

The ability to view the provided PDF files on a separate device or as a printout.
