This module ensures your hands are strong, agile, and ready to tackle any piece. We establish the critical foundational skills often overlooked in basic courses. 

  • Finger Fitness & Hand Strength: Master essential, targeted piano exercises for both hands. Focus is placed on developing equal strength and independence in all fingers. 

  • Ergonomics and Precision: Learn the correct finger positions and posture from day one, ensuring maximum efficiency, speed, and preventing strain. 

  • Sargam on the Keyboard: Gain a full, intuitive understanding of Sargam (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa). You will learn to map these melodic concepts onto the keyboard, forming the basis for understanding Indian scales (Thaat) and Western modes.

Move beyond simple melodies into the realm of harmony, coordination, and advanced scale work. This is where musical fluency begins. 

  • Scale Mastery in Thirds: Dramatically improve your coordination by practicing scales in thirds. You'll execute these challenging patterns smoothly in all 12 major and minor scales, integrating your Sargam knowledge for melodic insight. 

  • The Power of Forms: Practice scales and fundamental chords in both Block Form (playing notes simultaneously for harmonic weight) and Broken Form (playing notes sequentially, forming arpeggios). 

  • Minor Chord Confidence: Dedicated exercises to master the most common and evocative chord voicings across all 12 minor keys, essential for soulful accompaniment. 

  • Coordination Challenges: Tackle the intricate technique of Contrary Motion Scales, focusing on minor scales, where your hands move in opposite directions, sharpening inter-hand communication. 

  • The Augmented Sound: Explore the unique, mysterious tonality of the Augmented Scale through focused exercises, adding a professional color to your harmonic vocabulary.

  • Rhythmic Left Hand (Arpeggios): Develop a versatile left hand dedicated to accompaniment. You will practice left-hand arpeggio patterns specifically tailored to match and maintain different musical beats and tempos, crucial for creating a dynamic sound. 

  • The Two-Hand System (Step-by-Step): Follow a detailed, step-by-step guide designed to seamlessly integrate both hands. You will learn how the left hand provides the rhythmic and harmonic foundation while the right hand carries the melody. 

  • Classic Hindi Song Application: Apply your newly acquired two-hand coordination skills to create satisfying, full arrangements of beloved classics. This hands-on application solidifies your learning:

Please Note: The teaching methodology of the Piano Yoga series is not suitable for absolute beginners  A foundational understanding of piano playing, particularly with both hands, is recommended. 

you should already know the basic note names (e.g., C D E F / Sa Re Ga Ma) and major and minor chords to understand the lessons.    

The instructor primarily teaches in Hindi with some English.

Each course in this series (e.g., Piano Yoga - 1, Piano Yoga – 2 . . .) is an independent module, not a sequential level. This means you can enroll in any course at any time.  

 

What You'll Need:   

To get the most out of this course, you’ll need one of the following instruments:    

Acoustic or digital piano , A 5-octave keyboard with touch sense , MIDI keyboard.   

The ability to view the provided PDF files on a separate device or as a printout.   

For best results, we highly recommend practicing for a minimum of 30-40 minutes every day:
