Piano Yoga 1 offers a structured series of online courses designed to significantly enhance your piano proficiency through a wealth of specially crafted exercises, progressing from easy to advanced. Our curriculum covers a diverse range of topics, including: 

  • 45 Specially Designed Piano Exercises: A core series of unique exercises focusing on speed, strength, flexibility, and coordination. 

In addition to the core set, the curriculum features advanced focus areas: 

  • Harmonic Modes: In-depth study and application of various modal scales to enhance musical vocabulary and improvisation skills. 

  • Chromatic Scale Mastery: Intensive practice of the chromatic scale coupled with a deep understanding of its rhythmic flow and phrasing. 

  • Harmonized Chromatic Notes Exercise: Advanced exercises to integrate and harmonize chromatic movements for richer texture and control. 

  • Diatonic Chords in All Keys: Practical exercises to master the diatonic chords (triads and 7th chords) in all major and minor keys, ensuring complete fluency across the keyboard. 

  • Contrary Arpeggios: Techniques for playing arpeggios simultaneously moving in opposite directions to develop hand independence and symmetry. 

  • Double Notes Arpeggios: Exercises focused on playing arpeggios using double notes (e.g., thirds, sixths) to build finger strength and precision. 

  • Octave Jump Exercises: Specific drills to improve accuracy, speed, and relaxation when executing large interval jumps, particularly octaves.

  • Chords and Harmony: Understand minor scales chords, chord changes, and the 7 diatonic chords, along with techniques for choosing chords. 

  • Left-Hand Development: Focus on specialized left-hand exercises, patterns for different beats, walking bass, pattern extensions, and stretching techniques. 

  • Advanced Techniques: Dive into thumb crossing, chromatic exercises, modes, jumping octaves, , and the utilization of all 12 notes. 

  • Rhythm and Timing: Develop a nuanced understanding of different speeds, even and odd time signatures.

Please Note: The teaching methodology of the Piano Yoga series is not suitable for absolute beginners  A foundational understanding of piano playing, particularly with both hands, is recommended. 

you should already know the basic note names (e.g., C D E F / Sa Re Ga Ma) and major and minor chords to understand the lessons.    

The instructor primarily teaches in Hindi with some English.

Each course in this series (e.g., Piano Yoga - 1, Piano Yoga – 2 . . .) is an independent module, not a sequential level. This means you can enroll in any course at any time.  

 

What You'll Need:   

To get the most out of this course, you’ll need one of the following instruments:    

Acoustic or digital piano , A 5-octave keyboard with touch sense , MIDI keyboard.   

The ability to view the provided PDF files on a separate device or as a printout.   

For best results, we highly recommend practicing for a minimum of 30-40 minutes every day:
