This course provides a structured introduction to Indian Classical Music (ICM) principles and practical techniques: 

  • ICM Fundamentals: Master the basics of singing according to the Indian Classical framework. 

  • Essential Techniques: Detailed introduction to Alankar (vocal exercises), Chota Khayal (short compositions), Alaap (slow, melodic expansion), and Taan (fast melodic runs). 

  • Daily Practice: Learn the proper methods for daily vocal practice (Riyaz) to ensure consistent improvement. 

  • Music Theory: Gain an understanding of core Indian Music Theory. 

  • Raga Study: Focus on key introductory Ragas including: Yaman, Bhupali, Bhairav, and Bhairavi. 

  • Practical Application: Apply your skills by learning popular Bhajan, Ghazal, and classic Bollywood songs.

Prerequisites (Please Note Carefully): 

  • Foundational Knowledge Required: This course is not suitable for absolute beginners with zero musical background. 

  • Pre-Required Understanding: You must have a foundational understanding of basic note names (e.g., C D E F or $Sa Re Ga Ma$) and the concept of major and minor chords to effectively grasp the lessons. 

Language & Structure: 

  • Language of Instruction: The instructor primarily teaches in Hindi, with supporting explanations in English. 

  • Recommended Order: To achieve maximum benefit and a smooth learning progression, we highly recommend completing the courses in the sequential order they are presented on the platform.

What You'll Need: 

To get the most out of your lessons and practice effectively, you will need one of the following: 

  • Acoustic or Digital Piano 

  • A 5-Octave Keyboard with Touch Sensitivity 

  • MIDI Keyboard 

  • Harmonium

  • The ability to view provided PDF files on a separate device or as a printout. 

  • Commitment to Practice: For best results, we highly recommend dedicating a minimum of 30-40 minutes every day to practice (Riyaz).
